13th December 2007 - END OF YEAR BBQ
Hi all

Last game of Cricket this weekend before the break. Hope everyone has been enjoying their games.

The club is hosting a BBQ on Saturday 22 December starting at about 5pm. The Sumner Senior Men's team is playing a home game so come earlier and support them if you can. The bar will be open of course.

Hope to see some of you there. Once the main game is finished I am sure we can organise a game for the kids.

Cheers Graeme

5th October 2007 - JUNIOR NEWS

Hi all
Getting close now....first game is this weekend for some teams. Others have had the opposition default. See below for where to find the draws. Quite a bit of info below.

First Game

First game is Oct 6 (this weekend). Your coach should be in touch if they have not already. Some games have been defaulted already

Opening Day - change of date

This will now be on Saturday October 13 at 5pm - not on October 6 as previously mentioned. There were just too many families away on Oct 6. It will be quite a different event this year. We would like to see as many parents involved as possible. We are also sharing the opening day with the senior members.
We will start at about 5pm and there will be about 4-5 cricket activity stations and the teams are going to rotate through these activities. We have a speed radar to measure bowling speed, a tennis ball gun, throwing and bowling competitions and then we will have the usual sausage sizzle, lolly scramble etc.
We are encouraging parents to participate in these activities with their kids!
We are also looking for some volunteers to help out on the day.

Shirts

We are short of shirts. I suspect many did not come back last season. Do you have a shirt or shirts from last season? Please get in touch if you do.

Results

Results should be posted before midday on the Sunday after the game to make the deadline for the paper. Otherwise you have 13 days. Any later than that and you will forfeit any points. http://www.cjca.org.nz/pages/gr-match-results.aspx This is the only site for results (the page is currently under construction but should be up soon).

Statistics

There is a brand new initiative from NZ Cricket this season. Players can register with NZ cricket at their website and then someone from each team can enter all of the stats from each game. Each player gets their own profile. They can upload a photo - it is like their own home page. More about this later. I think some of the kids will really get into this.
We would like to register all of the players on their behalf. They have to provide an email address so they can login to the site.

If you do not want your email address to be sent off

so your child can be registered, please let me know A.S.A.P. That's all for now.

Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible on 13 October.
Regards
Graeme
